Thank God Obama Care is dead. This is victory for the American people. We, the people, know our Constitution, and no where in the list of 17 duties prescribed by the U.S. Constitution for the Federal govenment, does it say: Provide health care, provide social security, provide medicare, provide bail-outs for the rich, enact an income tax, legislate personal behavior.
All that stuff was strictly reserved for the STATES to do. Not the Federal Government. It’s not rocket science.

I love how they accuse the Republicans of blocking health care reform. How? The dems have a majority of the House and the Senate. It is Moderate Democrats that are blocking it

Has Obama ever NOT lied?

I’d trust a Native Shaman before any of the quacks under obama care

you better start writting letters to the editor!
because obama care is health care at gun point!
February 9th, 2010 at 12:08 am
I have no intentions of purchasing any such health care. Let them come and arrest me and see what the U.S. supreme court has to say on the subject !

Obama promised repeatedly that ALL negotiations for a healthcare plan would be broadcast on C-SPAN, but like so many of his promises, it was all a LIE. (Nancy Pelosi and her cronies even laughed at a reporter’s suggestion that they should stick to Obama’s campaign promises). From the “Cash for Cloture” deals in the Senate, to these backroom deals in the House, the Democratic “leadership” has been exposed for its duplicity.
February 9th, 2010 at 12:55 am
“The C-SPAN networks will commit the necessary resources to covering all of the sessions LIVE and in their entirety,” Lamb wrote. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi appeared to object to the premise behind the request.
Sen. Barack Obama first pledged opening up legislative negotiations to C-SPAN cameras during a Democratic presidential primary debate with Sen. Hillary Clinton in Los Angeles on Jan. 31, 2008.
February 9th, 2010 at 1:43 am
1/10/10: Brian Lamb, the C-SPAN CEO, wrote to leaders in the House and Senate Dec. 30 urging them to open “all important negotiations, including any conference committee meetings,” to televised coverage on C-SPAN, imploring Congress to open up the last leg of health care “reform” negotiations to the public, as some “top” Democrats lay plans to hash out the final product among themselves…

The House of Representatives is reportedly slated to return on January 12, 2010, and the US Senate on January 19, 2010. Even before that, however, some Democratic “leaders” in the House and Senate are planning closed-door backroom meetings to negotiate all of their “deals” to try and get this health care “reform” passed.

You can send Blast Faxes to Democrats, Republicans, Independents — EVERYONE in BOTH houses of Congress, DEMANDING that they REJECT this socialized health care plan NOW. TELL CONGRESS TO REJECT SOCIALIZED HEALTH CARE — BETTER KNOWN AS “OBAMACARE.”

With every passing day, more and more citizens are expressing their opposition and outrage over this monstrous bill. And remember, Obama, Pelosi and Reid wanted to pass Obamacare months ago. Thanks to YOUR efforts, we’ve been able to STOP that from happening.
February 9th, 2010 at 3:53 am
And you can bet that the House WILL amend the Senate bill. There are PLENTY of disagreements among Democrats in the House over Harry Reid’s compromise bill, in areas like abortion, the public option, illegal immigrant coverage, taxation of union health care plans, and the degree of subsidy available for purchase of health care. Any ONE of these can SINK Obamacare!
February 9th, 2010 at 4:49 am
It would likely require three separate cloture votes just to pass the motion to appoint conferees! So — the Senate bill goes back to the House, which will have to debate it all over again… including amending it. If the House amends the Senate bill, they then have to send the amended bill back to the Senate — where all the 60 vote margin cloture votes still apply — cloture on the motion to proceed, cloture to end the filibuster, and cloture on any amendment…
February 9th, 2010 at 5:15 am
And because of Sen. DeMint’s objection to the appointment of the conferees, there will be no conference, or conference report. Democrats can resort to a fallback: they can propose a motion to appoint conferees, but that motion is subject to filibuster…
February 9th, 2010 at 6:06 am
THIS TIME, Republican Leader McConnell (at the behest of Sen. DeMint) actually objected to the appointment of the conferees — something that’s almost never done. That means that the Senate ObamaCare bill must be amended on the House floor to gain the votes they need to pass it on the House floor…
February 9th, 2010 at 6:11 am
That usually means that, when a bill is amended in one house (like the Senate amended the House bill, in order to get the 60 votes needed to pass it), a “conference committee” is appointed with members of both houses to “iron out” the differences, and then each house votes on the final compromise bill with no amendments allowed. That’s what usually happens… BUT NOT THIS TIME!
February 9th, 2010 at 7:04 am
What that means is this: The U.S. Constitution, in Article I, Section 7.2, specifies that every bill has to pass both houses of Congress before it can be signed into law. However, it has to be the exact same bill that passes…
February 9th, 2010 at 7:45 am
After Sen. Harry Reid was able to bribe and cajole 60 Democrat and Independent Senators to vote for “cloture” and pass the Senate version of ObamaCare, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) engineered an “objection to the appointment of the conferees.”

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: “Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States “

Obama and the Democrats in America want to disarm all Americans with their so-called “Gun Control” for the safety “of the children” of course, (except for their own bodyguards and their military) so Americans who disagree with their policies can then be shot dead if need be, in the streets like peaceful citizens are brutalized all over the world by their corrupt and brutal dictatorships. Never vote for a Democrat, they are the “Enemy Within”.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:34 am
The only thing the government should guarantee is life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If everyone doesn’t get off the feds tit soon there will be nothing left. No wealth, no prosperity, no opportunities. We have a generation of people holding out their hands waiting for what’s “owed” them. Put these people back in the thirties and they would be dying in the streets instead of forging a stronger nation like our fathers and grandfathers did.
